oh livejournal. please keep me awake. i'm afraid if i fall asleep at the library i'll never wake up. i have an hour before my law and terrorism class but if i go park myself in a carrel and read i will surely snooze. so i'll babble to bore you and entertain myself.

vermont was spectacular. seriously. i had the best time ever. i went up on saturday morning with bernie and thea and left sunday night with them. i had too much work to do at home and couldn't justify staying through to monday when i'd already feasted and played all the games. this place was like something straight out of cribs (well, maybe it was like ted nugent's crib since there were animal heads and antlers all over the walls. yeah, that part was disturbing). there were plasma screen tvs, a bunch of bedrooms, air hockey, pool, pinball machines, a jukebox, an indoor hot tub AND it was up on a mountain that overlooked this awesome expanse of hills and valleys in vermont. we did karaoke one night and bernie reasserted our supremecy as a west/east coast karaoke rap duo (the picture of us throwing east and west gang signs will surely end our political careers before they begin). my shining moment was doing "ice ice baby" without having to look at the screen for the words. i love my team, it was such an amazing time. t.c. brought the g.f. but i didn't really talk to them at all. it was too weird. bernie and thea were awesome because even though they're newlyweds they totally didn't make share a room with t.c. and the g.f. (after everyone else had claimed rooms there was a room with one double and another with a double and two twins... they agreed to the latter for my sake). that's friendship right there. and they brought me back a deck of cards from hawaii with a naked chick on them. yay for being the perviest person they know!

work is insane. my computer is working more than everyone else's. i have email, access to my documents and the ability to print but no internet or case management system. so now i'm trying to get caught up on everything i've been behind on for the last few weeks. alice (the umass fellow) and i went upstairs to watch a public hearing for a while. who knew we had a full-size courtroom on the third floor? totally bizarre. most of our public hearings are handled in boston but this one was here for whatever reason. interesting case. the complainant was alleging gender harassment and saying her boss, a dentist, slapped her, kicked her and bit her drawing blood once, among other things. his attorney's response? "as unconventional as it may seem, it was friendly, mutual and consensual. it was horseplay." wtf?? anyway, after that jason and i met up for lunch at gus and paul's. i have fallen madly in love with their cobb salad (minus the avacado, which he eats for me). who needs a girlfriend when there is such delectable salady goodness? certainly not me.

new roommate drank four of my beers the night she moved in last week. russeski or not, i'm going to have to lay the smack down. she can't blame it on her genes. she didn't touch my vodka.

painting party is happening this weekend, though i don't think anyone will show. sigh. oh well. i will have a pretty yellow kitchen and the russeski's area (and my future living room) will be a lovely sage. i will just take me forever.

crap, i have only managed to kill 19 minutes. please stand by while i do an interpretive dance of my boredom in the computer lab.

okay, that manged to knock off another 10 seconds. sucky about rehnquist kicking it, huh? i didn't find out about it until monday morning because we were totally cut off from the outside world in vermont (just as the baby jesus intended it). i told the softball team it was good we didn't know because it totally would have put a damper on our festivities and at least this way we got to get in one last lesbodian hurrah before all the gays are shipped off to guantanamo after the new court holds that "the framers did not intend the constitution to protect the homosexuals."

speaking of gays, we had our first outlaw meeting yesterday. and there were NO NEW LESBIANS!!! what the fuck? who's a girl got to blow around here to have one cute single lesbian at school? huh? if i have to be trapped in this god forsaken place four days a week i'd like to have someone lovely to look at and have naughty thoughts about in the cafeteria. i could leave her harassing notes in her locker or mail folder. i could get her liquored up at barrister's ball. or something. sorry for that outburst. it's just especially slow right now on the girl front. with the t.c. crush all but dead, i have nothing else going on. no prospects whatsoever. so if you have a nice lesbian friend who is emotionally and otherwise available, is over the age of 23, has a j-o-b, and is out to everyone that counts, send her my way. i'll try not to hold my breath.

so i've only got 29 minutes until class. i think i'm going to go downstairs and get a snack before class. we're just watching a movie tonight anyway, but its one i couldn't rent anywhere. maybe i can snooze a little with the lights off. jason and lloyd-jones sit next to me. they won't let me drool.

p.s. the bell gave me kelly clarkson cds to burn and canadarm gave me the killers. i'm so super stoked. and isn't that the strangest combination ever?
